Li Chi-peng pointed out that the military academies of the Navy, Army and Air Force are all located in Kaohsiung, and marine research is an important feature and advantage of Sun Yat-sen University. Chen Zhendong, Chair Professor of the Department of Marine Science, is an outstanding scholar in the field of global marine science and was elected as an academician of the Academia Sinica this year, and Sun Yat-sen's team has developed underwater vehicle technology and equipment systems to support underwater search and rescue and also continues to carry out international research programs on sonar technology for the high-dynamic marine environment. At the same time, the Zhongshan team has been conducting international research programs on sonar technology for high-dynamic marine environments, and managing and operating NSC's multifunctional ocean research vessel, the New Ocean Research Vessel No. 3, etc. We hope that the two schools will cooperate more closely in the future, and that exchanges in the areas of human resources cultivation, scientific research, and various fields will be more in-depth and diversified, so as to create a win-win situation.
