The Naval Academy recently held the "January 2025 Monthly Meeting," presided over by President Major General Liu. During the meeting, awards were presented to recognize the champions of the "Basketball Competition of the General Studies Department's Physical Education and Team Building Activities" and the outstanding individuals from the "Department of Applied Sciences' 2025 Class Graduation Project Exhibition." These awards acknowledged their excellent performance and served to encourage them to continue to approach the new year with gratitude and diligence, striving for personal and institutional honors.
In his speech, Major General Liu emphasized that the progress of school affairs depends on the collective efforts of all faculty, staff, and students. He encouraged everyone to adopt the mindset of "doing everything within my power," to be courageous in taking on responsibilities, and reminded students that now is the best time to enrich themselves. He used the human brain as an example, noting that its most important function is "memory," and that regular review is essential to internalizing knowledge and strengthening one's professional skills. In addition to accumulating military knowledge and learning leadership, these efforts will also lay a solid foundation for their future military careers.
Lastly, Major General Liu pointed out that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance against Japan. The stable development of the country today owes much to the hard work and selfless dedication of naval pioneers and martyrs who sacrificed their lives. He stressed that we must remember the lesson of "to forget war is to risk danger, and to seek war is to invite destruction," and continue to contribute to the Navy and national security.
