National Kaohsiung Normal University College of Arts, in collaboration with the Republic of China Naval Academy and the College of Design at Tainan University of Applied Sciences, jointly held the Ocean Sustainability Defense Team – Art and Poster Design Creative Competition, which was grandly exhibited from February 19 to 24, 2025. This exhibition uses poster design as a medium to deepen students' awareness of marine conservation and design practice capabilities through a creative competition, while fostering design exchanges and educational cooperation among the three universities.
The exhibition, themed Ocean Sustainability Defense Team, emphasizes Earth as our shared home, providing life, resources, and the foundation for human existence. However, with the increasing frequency of human activities, global climate change, resource depletion, and environmental pollution have become increasingly severe. This exhibition hopes to use the power of visual art to inspire students and creators to reflect on the relationship between humans, the ocean, and the Earth through innovative design. It also encourages thinking about how to integrate environmental protection and sustainability concepts into design. Through multiple perspectives, the exhibition explores the theme of "Ocean Sustainability and Co-Prosperity," transforming design into creative and impactful visual works.
The exhibition specially invited distinguished guests including General Liu Baowen, President of the Republic of China Naval Academy, Colonel Wen Zhijian, Director of Political Warfare, Dr. Wang Zhengyan, President of National Kaohsiung Normal University, Dr. Du Mingde, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Chen Limin, Dean of the College of Arts, Tainan University of Applied Sciences’ Professor Chen Weihang, and other guests, who highly recognized the event. Meanwhile, faculty and students from the three universities enthusiastically participated, promoting in-depth academic and design exchanges through the display of creative works, making the exhibition both profound and expansive.
