The Naval Academy Basketball Team, with their championship title in the preliminary round, advanced to the playoffs as the first seed.

Today (25th), they faced the powerhouse of the southern region, Fu Yin University of Science and Technology. The game started with the Naval Academy’s outside shooting hitting multiple points, taking an early lead of 13-2. Fu Yin quickly adapted their defense strategy, and the two teams were locked in a tight contest. The first quarter ended with the Naval Academy leading by 3 points.

In the second quarter, the Naval Academy players became overly nervous, resulting in several offensive errors and key players failing to perform at their usual level. The score remained tied, but fortunately, the coaching staff made the right personnel adjustments, allowing the team to stay within reach and keep the game tight heading into halftime.

In the third quarter, taking advantage of their bench depth, the team frequently rotated players, providing them with opportunities to recover. Both teams demonstrated strong three-point shooting, but the score remained close, leading to an intense final quarter.

In the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, the score was tied at 59-59. The coaching staff called for a timeout to adjust their strategy, specifically advising player number 8, Zhang Jingchen from the 116th class, to shift his approach from shooting to driving to the basket. This adjustment proved successful, and with one minute left in the game, Zhang scored key points, helping the team secure a 75-71 victory.

Our basketball team won this game and will now compete for a spot in the top four of the playoffs, having already advanced to the national finals!
