The R.O.C. Naval Academy recently celebrated the grand opening of its Indigenous Student Resource Center (ISRC). The ceremony kicked off with a soulful performance by the academy’s "Hai-Yun" Choir, whose rendition of a traditional Truku-style piece resonated through the air—their powerful voices perfectly symbolizing the vibrant energy of the Indigenous students.

During the ceremony, the Academy’s Superintendent, Rear Admiral Liu, emphasized that the Navy deeply respects the unique cultural backgrounds of every officer, sailor, and student. "The establishment of this center is a key step in our 'Friendly Campus' policy," Liu stated. "Our goal is to strengthen the sense of belonging and support for our Indigenous students. By inviting expert consultants and integrating professional resources, we aim to enhance student guidance and promote 'Indigenous Education for All'."

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ms. Yu-shan Hung, Chairperson of the Kaohsiung Indigenous Affairs Commission, and Mr. Jong-Chin Huang, Dean of Student Affairs at National Pingtung University (the lead institution for the Southern Region Indigenous Student Resource Centers). Together, they witnessed this historic milestone. The celebration concluded on a high note with a warm tea reception, where guests and students shared lively conversations.

Looking ahead, the center plans to host regular cultural lectures and exchange activities to foster a spirit of inclusion. By providing a supportive and respectful environment, the Academy ensures that all students can hone their skills and grow into the future "Pillars of the Navy."
