Post-disaster recovery efforts in Hualien are in full swing. Military personnel are not only on the front lines of rescue efforts, but many are also volunteering during their leave to assist in cleanup, earning them the nickname "Shovel Supermen" and fully demonstrating the military's spirit of "protecting the country and serving the people."

During this crucial recovery phase, inspired by their comrades' actions, soldiers have spontaneously joined the relief efforts. Among them, soldiers from the Army Missile Optoelectronic Base Service Factory, upholding the concept of "military and civilians as one family," have formed teams during their leave to tirelessly work in villages and alleys of Guangfu Township, helping to clear mud and remove debris, thus alleviating the burden on disaster victims and earning widespread recognition.

It is worth mentioning that some soldiers have even rallied their comrades to participate, showcasing the camaraderie within the military. Kuo Ching-heng, a student from the Naval Academy, took the initiative to call on his classmates and juniors to volunteer at the Guangfu Military Academy, supporting the nation and its people through concrete actions.

Kuo Ching-heng stated that as a military academy student, he should understand the soldier's duty to defend the country. This volunteer activity has further strengthened his resolve to serve in the military and his aspiration to become a steadfast pillar in protecting our homeland.
